Travel Tips
Arrange your Penang trip by making sure that you have all the detailed information about that place before you go. You must keep following things in mind in advance to avoid any problem:
Safety and security:
- Don't accept packages or anything on behalf of anyone in any case.
- In case of any unforeseen circumstance, you can turn to the country's Tourist Police Unit; you are traveling to, for help.
- Be aware at tourist's spots to save your pockets from local thugs.
- Put a strap for security around your luggage.
- To avoid security risk, keep your luggage with you.
Visa and Passport:
- You must have all the requirements for visiting country regarding visa and passport and make sure you have applied for it in advance of your departure dates.
- Take your Passport and Visa with you on the day of departure.
- The validity of Visa and Passport should be checked in advance.
- In case of losing your passport or visa, immediately contact the embassy in the country, you are traveling in
Tickets:
- As you receive tickets, check all the details and flight information written on that.
- Don't forget to take your tickets with your passport and visa.
Smart packing:
- Check the ticket for Flight(s) details & accuracy as soon as you recieve it.
- Keep your tickets with your passport and visas and do not forget them on the day you travel
Packing
- Check the weather conditions of that country you are traveling to, before you go.
- To avoid hustle and rushing, pack your luggage one night before going.
- Avoid folding the clothes; instead roll them to reduce creases.
- Try to have travel size packing of everything, you feel necessary to bring with you.
Handling Money:
- Foreign currency and traveler's checks can be converted to country's banks or money changers but make sure that you are carrying local currency in cash especially when you visit smaller towns and far-off areas.
- Always keep some extra foreign currency with you in advance because your flight timings might be odd.
- You must have your debit and credit cards and traveler's cheques and the list of their number plus the contact numbers of the suppliers of these cards in case if they are lost.
Eating and drinking:
- It is harmless to drink water directly from the tap but it is better to take precautions in any case. Boil it or purchase branded bottled water.
- Don't drink too much before go into the aircraft, as alcohol and cabin pressure because enhanced dehydration. You are also not capable to use the toilets until the aircraft is in the air and at a safe height for the seat belt sign to be taken off.
